The University of Warwick calls for applications for 50 Warwick Manufacturing Group Excellence Scholarships for full-time MSc course.  Up to a total of 50 WMG Excellence Scholarships will be awarded on a % discount of the tuition fees. Awards will range from 20% to 50% fee discount with the maximum award possible being 50% discount. WMG Excellence Scholarships are available on a competitive basis. Awards will be based on past academic achievement, previous experience, extracurricular activities, reasons for study, and your vision for the future. The University of Warwick is a public research university in Coventry, England. It was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand access to higher education. Applicants should have an excellent academic track-record. The WMG Scholarship committee will be reviewing both the academic achievement (usually the equivalent of a British 1st Class Honours Degree) and Scholarship Statement when awarding. Course Level: Scholarships are available for full-time MSc course. Study Subject: Scholarships are offered in diverse fields to help students in upgrading their education.  Worth of Award Up to a total of 50 WMG Excellence Scholarships will be awarded on a % discount of the tuition fees. Awards will range from 20% to 50% fee discount with the maximum award possible being 50% discount.  WMG will be awarding over £700,000 in scholarships and bursaries to students commencing study. Eligibility  Applicants should have received an offer to study on a WMG Full-time MSc course that runs in the UK, starting October 2017, before applying for the WMG Excellence Scholarship. Applicants should have an excellent academic track-record. The WMG Scholarship committee will be reviewing both the academic achievement (usually the equivalent of a British 1st Class Honours Degree) and Scholarship Statement when awarding. For conditional offer-holders, scholarship awards will also be conditional on achieving the awardee’s final predicted grade. WMG Excellence Scholarships are for self-funded students only. NB: students with partial bursaries on scholarship-loan schemes or partially funded by an external organisation may be considered. Awardees should inform the scholarship committee if they are in receipt of another scholarship or are later awarded other funding. WMG Excellence Scholarships are awarded for study on UK Full-time MSc Programmes only. WMG Excellence Scholarships are paid towards tuition fees only and cannot be paid in cash or towards accommodation or maintenance costs. WMG will award WMG Excellence Scholarships across all WMG Full-time MSc Programmes to maximize nationality and gender diversity. Description: The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), established in 2009 by the Research Grants Council (RGC), aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD programmes in Hong Kong’s institutions. About 200 PhD Fellowships will be awarded each academic year. For awardees who need more than three years to complete the PhD degree, additional support may be provided by the chosen institutions. The financial aid is available for any field of study.

Description: The Princeton Society of Fellows, an interdisciplinary group of scholars in the humanities, social sciences, and selected natural sciences, invites applications for the 2017-2020 Fellowship competition. Four three-year Postdoctoral Fellowships will be awarded this year. The stipend for each of the three years of the fellowship will be approximate $84,500. In addition, fellows are provided with a shared office, a personal computer, a research account of $5,000 a year, access to university grants, benefits and other resources.

Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University - Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Creative Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences & Math Up to $75,000 for one year; $37,500 for one semester. Anticipated 9/2017 ( Previous deadline 9/15/2016 )

Fellowships support scholars, scientists, artists, and writers who wish to pursue work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts. In recognition of Radcliffe’s historic contributions to the education of women and to the study of issues related to women, the Radcliffe Institute sustains a continuing commitment to the study of women, gender and society. Applicants’ projects need not focus on gender, however. Fellow are expected to reside in the Boston area. The standard term of the fellowship is one year. Visual artists and film, video, sound, and new media artists may apply to come for either one or two semesters.

Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program $75,000 09/24/2017

The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University offers up to 27 yearlong fellowships for research in the humanities and social sciences. The fellowship begins early September and ends in late May. Fellows will pursue independent research as well as collaborate with other fellows at talks and lunches with the Radcliffe/Harvard University community in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The fellowship comes with office/studio space and college library access.

National Academy of Education (NAEd) - Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship $70,000 for one academic year of research or $35,000 for each of two contiguous years, working half-time.

This nonresidential postdoctoral fellowship funds proposals that make significant scholarly contributions to the field of education. National Academy of Education / Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship $70,000 11/05/2017

The National Academy of Education (NAEd) awards up to 28 postdoctoral scholars for 1-2 years of research relevant to the improvement of education. Also sponsored by The Spencer Foundation, fellows will be funded for 1 academic year of research or 2 contiguous years, working half-time. The program also develops the careers of its recipients through professional development activities involving NAEd members. This is a non-residential fellowship. Fellows will work on knowledgeable research related to education that used an appropriate research design and method to collect and analyze the data.

Dunlap Postdoctoral Fellowship at University of Toronto in Canada, 2016/2017 $68000 09/01/2017

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE) - Postdoctoral Fellowship in Solar Energy Annual stipend of $65,000. Anticipated 5/2017 ( Previous deadline 5/20/2016 )

Fellowships offer recent Ph.D. recipients the opportunity to conduct applied research at universities, national laboratories, and other research facilities on research topics of interest to EERE. Awards are designed to advance the development of clean energy technologies in energy efficiency for buildings, industry and vehicles; and renewable energy using biomass, hydrogen and fuel cells, geothermal, solar, and water and wind power. The fellowship is for one year, renewable for up to two years.

Fellowships support postdoctoral research exploring and clarifying the interrelationships within the humanities as well as their relationship to the natural and social sciences. Fellows carry out their research and teach within humanities departments at Columbia University. During the first year, fellows teach one course per semester. At least one of these courses will be in the undergraduate general education program: Contemporary Civilization, Literature Humanities, Music Humanities, Art Humanities, Asian Civilizations, Asian Humanities, or Global Cultures, including those of Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. In the second and third year, fellows teach one course per year. The fellowship offers one year of support, and is renewable for a second and third year.

University of Michigan - President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for Faculty Diversity $50,000-60,000 annual salary plus benefits. Anticipated 11/2017 ( Previous deadline 11/1/2016 )

Fellowships support scholars in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), economics, and political science whose research, teaching and service will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education. The program is particularly interested in scholars with a non-traditional educational background or understanding of the experiences of groups historically underrepresented in higher education. Fellows focus on research and publishing activities that will enhance their prospects for appointment as a tenure-track faculty member. The goal of the program is to develop an outstanding pool of potential new faculty members in the targeted disciplines. The fellowship is for one year, renewable for one year.

Postdoctoral Fellowships In the Humanities, Arts, Sciences, and Professions $55,000 09/30/2017

The Michigan Society of Fellows awards 9 residential 3-year postdoctoral fellowships at University of Michigan (UMich) to research, teach, and participate. The fellowship is also funded by the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies at University of Michigan, located in Ann Arbor. Fellows are appointed as Assistant Professors in appropriate departments and as Postdoctoral Scholars in the Michigan Society of Fellows. They are expected to be in residence in Ann Arbor during the academic years of the fellowship, to teach for the equivalent of one academic year, to participate in the informal intellectual life of the Society, and to devote time to their independent research or artistic projects. This is not an artist-in-residence program but rather an opportunity to develop one’s work in conversation with fellows from a range of disciplines during the three years of the fellowship.

Fellowships support scholars in all academic fields whose research, teaching and service will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education. The contributions to diversity may include public service towards increasing equitable access in fields where women and minorities are underrepresented. In some fields, the contributions may include research focusing on underserved populations or understanding inequalities related to race, gender, disability or LGBT. Positions are available at UC campuses as well as UC-Affiliated National Laboratories. The fellowship offers support for one year, and may be renewable for a second year.

The American Australian Association annually offers US students and scholars a fellowship for advanced study or research in Australia for up to 1 year. The fellowship is designed to link social and economic partnerships between the United States and Australia. Fellows will explore why going to Australia will be integral to their studies and how they can apply what they have learned when they return to the United States.

Mellon / ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowships $38,000 10/26/2017

The Andrew W Mellon Foundation and the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) award up to 65 fellowships to students in their final dissertation year. These fellowships are awarded to assist students, in the humanities and related social science fields, in their last year of PhD dissertation writing. Award support is for one year. Research projects should be original and significant to contributing to knowledge. Fellowship recipients will have a strong scholarly record and career plan. Research projects will be of high-quality and fellows will be expected to complete the project in a feasible amount of time. The fellowship tenure may be carried out in residence at the fellow's home institution, abroad, or at another appropriate site for the research.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS) - Diversity Dissertation Fellowship $37,500 stipend. Anticipated 5/2017 ( Previous deadline 5/2/2016 )

Fellowships support doctoral students who plan a career in higher education and have completed all other PhD requirements to finish their dissertations. Fellows may be pursuing the PhD degree in any discipline or area taught in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Current fields of study can be viewed on the MIT-SHASS website. Each Fellow will be affiliated with a department or program in the School and have access to with access to the libraries and faculty of the School. Fellows will not be required to teach while at MIT, but are required to be in residence during the term of the fellowship. The fellowship is for nine months.

UCLA Latin American Institute is granting several one-year fellowships to Brazilian students seeking graduate degrees at UCLA. The funding support is intended to assist UCLA departments and programs in recruiting top Brazilian students who show promise in academic excellence and are in need of financial assistance. Autism Research Postdoctoral Training Program $30,000 10/25/2017

University of California Davis (UCD) offers 2 years of interdisciplinary autism research training for up to 6 postdoctoral scholars. Fellows will carry out research at UCD's Medical Investigation of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (MIND) Institute. Funding is provided by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Institute supports a number of grants for research on the autism spectrum or other closely related neurodevelopmental disorders. All forms of investigation, from basic biological studies to behavioral and educational interventions, are supported. Each trainee will have a primary mentor, the faculty member with whom they directly carry out their research program, as well as a secondary mentor, who will provide a different disciplinary orientation.

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship $30,000 November (first week)

Applicant must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States who is in the early stages of graduate study in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Eligibility is limited to applicants who have completed no more than 12 months of post-baccalaureate, full-time graduate study at the time of their application. Award is for up to three years over a five year period.

Scholars-in-Residence Program $30,000 December 1

The Schomberg Center, located in the New York Public Library (NYPL), has collections about people of African descent and funds 6 months of research. This program is made possible by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Ford Foundation. The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is in Harlem, New York and is a research unit of NYPL. The Center carries out research on African-American, African Diaspora, and African experiences. Researchers will participate in lectures, publications, and seminars.

Fellowships support individuals whose dissertations show potential for bringing fresh and constructive perspectives to the history, theory, or practice of formal or informal education anywhere in the world. The fellowship offers support for one year.

Fellowships support a one-year stay. Priority is given to candidates at the graduate level for dissertation-related study or research.

PhRMA Foundation - Pharmaceutics Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships $20,000 per year. Anticipated 9/2017 ( Previous deadline 9/1/2016 )

Fellowships support research into the design and evaluation of contemporary pharmaceutical dosage forms and systems to ensure their safety, efficacy, and reliability, using multidisciplinary approaches with significant underpinnings from basic sciences such as physical chemistry, physical organic chemistry, and biophysics. (Investigations into the fundamental aspects of pharmacokinetics are not included since these are covered by PhRMA Foundation programs in pharmacology and toxicology.) Fellowships provide 1-2 years of support.

Predoctoral Fellowships

J. Clawson Mills Fellowship $20,000 November 3

Applicant must submit typed application, full resume of education and employment, official transcripts, and a two-part statement not to exceed 1,000 words. Preference is given to mature scholars of demonstrated ability. Award is for study or research at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship $20,000 November 30

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has recently graduated or is about to graduate from an institution which is a member of or affiliated with AUCC. Applicants presently studying in the U.S. are not eligible.
Award amount is in United States dollars.
